Sew Much Talent First Annual Sewing Retreat

If cannot tell you how excited to host this upcoming sewing retreat!!! This is more than a retreat or conference, this will be more like a family reunion. Let me tell you, some of the Sew Much Talent members I have been acquainted with since 2008, the year I founded the original Sew Much Talent networking community on the Ning platform. I eventually closed that group in 2016 after reconnecting with many of my sewing family members while on Periscope TV ( Sew Much Talent), and decided to reestablish the group on Facebook which was a much greater interface for our community. It's there that our community started to grow and blossom. With just two years in on Facebook and Instagram, the community has grown to where we are now, to nearly 9700 talented, skillful, and very supportive members. I'm grateful! It is with this in mind that I, and the members, thought it would be a great idea for us to come together and connect, meet one another.

So, that brings us to the retreat ( a time to get away from the norm). We literally get to come together and hang out for THREE DAYS- Thurs., July19- Fri., July 21.  The retreat is for ALL skill levels, even those that want to learn to sew, but have yet to take a class. This is a great way to jumpstart your journey. You don't want to miss this opportunity. Below is an overview of this event...

Yes, the magnificent duo of the You Tube hit The Tailor and the Dressmaker, James ' Gentleman Jim' McFarland and Victoria Baylor, will join me in hosting seminars during this event. You will learn to sew or refresh your skills; learn to troubleshoot most of those annoying sewing and fitting issues that we all face; and, as a bonus, you will learn what colors work best for you, and what style is best for your silhouette. Why is this important? It's important because this will maximize your sewing experience with each project by allowing you to choose the fabrics and patterns that are best for you each time you shop. This, in turn, will cut out ( no pun intended) unnecessary wadders ( project fails).
We will have some downtime to hang out and just freely sew. There are plans to some charitable sewing as well. giving back to The Lydia Project, my charity of choice. This will be optional.
As if that wasn't enough fun already, to end the event with a bang, will have our  High Sewciety Gala! There will be lots of fun had as we show off our makes for this event, eat and dance to live music. Who knows what else is instore for us as we come together. Anything can happen in three days!!!
Stay tuned in the days to come as I share more details regarding this retreat. In the meantime, please follow the links below for registration, insight into the location, and relevant links to our guest host.
